During live teaching it is tempting to transcribe every phrase. Resist. Capture the decision rule, one counter-example, and the chart timestamp you will revisit. Three lines beat three pages when you reopen the book on a Monday morning before the cash open.
Use the same abbreviations every time: Acc, Dist, Spr, UT, Eff/Res. Consistency lets you skim months of notes without decoding. Leave a margin for later corrections — crossed-out phase labels are evidence of learning, not failure.
Print two charts per A4 sheet with space beneath for volume commentary. Digital pens are fine if you already use them; the constraint that matters is finishing the markup before you look at what happened next.
